Participation
in CYO Athletics requires that all players, coaches and parents maintain
proper conduct at all times.Their
behavior should demonstrate self-restraint, fair play and sportsman-like
conduct, while in no way lessening the importance of winning the contest.
Coaches
and parents must be a positive force in the formation of an athlete’s total
development.It is expected that they
provide an environment in which our youth learn to display personal discipline,
and to express their emotions in an appropriate and mature manner.
To
that end, both parents and players agree to the following rules of conduct
in order to participate in the St. Felicitas/CYO athletic program:
1.Any
flagrant or unsportsmanlike conduct by a player or coach is just cause
for suspension or elimination from the program, as deemed necessary by
the Parish Administrator.
2.Players,
parents, and coaches may not use insulting or demeaning language to another
player, coach, game official, or spectator before, during or after any
game.It is the responsibility of
the team coach to set a proper example and to monitor the behavior of the
players, assistant coaches, and fans.The
team as a whole will be held accountable for the behavior of its members
and fans, and may suffer team disciplinary action for rules and violations.
3.Any
player or coach ejected from a game by an official for any reason MUST
LEAVE THE PREMISES.Disciplinary penalty
for ejection will be suspension from the next scheduled game at a minimum,
with the possibility of greater penalty for serious infractions.
4.Violations
of the rules listed below will not be tolerated in CYO programs:
a.Refusal
to abide by the rules and decisions of CYO;
b.Removing
a team from the floor because of dissatisfaction with officials;
c.Failure
to control the spectators and/or players bench;

of profane or vulgar language;

The
reputation of St. Felicitas Parish and its’ athletic teams is built not
only on winning percentage, but also on good sportsmanship and respectful
treatment of all CYO participants by our coaches, players, and parents.
